Reasons why should people eat healthy

Especially when it seems that at every turn our jobs and all our obligations have us eating out or dining on processed / packaged foods?

Some days it just seems like no one else even cares and its just so darn difficult to eat well so why should you even try to eat healthy and if you did try, how do you fit it in?

If it’s your busy schedule or you just like the convenience of eating out most of the time, you have put yourself in the position of having less control over the quality of the foods you eat and are subjecting yourself to fatty and overly processed foods.

Restaurant portions can be unbalanced and overgenerous. Many processed breads and cereals contain very little fibre (read the label for high fibre content). Other processed and packaged foods contain chemicals to enhance flavor, maintain freshness and coloring.

When dieting on a restrictive diet you may be tempted to take the weekends off. Even if you are diligent with your diet and workout from Monday to Friday, if you decide that you deserve a break at the weekend and just laze around and eat what you like. In two days you can easily regain any weight lost.

It’s fine to go for a meal out but by taking the whole weekend off you are not only likely to over eat, you may also make it harder to go back to your Monday fitness routine. If you are going to have a meal out, pre-plan what you will order when you get there so you can rehearse your portion control and healthy choices before the temptations of the smells from the kitchen hits your nose.

If you want to look and feel your best you need only take some time for planning your daily menu. This doesn’t mean you will have to spend hours cooking gourmet meals – you can make really healthy and simple meals quickly and easily.

So why should people eat healthy? Because by choosing a diet of whole grains, fruits, vegetables and natural proteins you will feel more satisfied when you eat and your digestive system will love you for it, you will feel better and overcome weight loss fatigue.
