The P90X exercise program requires a special P90X fitness test and comes with several workouts and helpful tips and tricks.

The P90X fitness test is found at the bottom of their website where there is a section on a 40 minute fit test they recommend you be able to pass the fit test prior to purchasing the P90X program. If you can’t find it on their site, let me know and I’ll send you the link.
I like that they take this responsibility and since they offer two alternative programs for a person to start with if you can’t finish or are unhappy with your P90X Fit Test results. These products are – The Power 90® and the Slim in 6®.
The pull up bar (sold separately) can be purchased along with the band.

Heart rate monitor
Tape measure
Partner to help record data (optional)
Pull-up bar
Timer (stopwatch or watch with second hand)
Running shoes
Towel
Water
Your “Bring It” game face
I don’t have a heart rate monitor, anymore (I dropped the watch in water and the cat ate the strap!) But it isn’t completely necessary if you know how to locate your pulse on your neck or wrist.
